CUSTOMER RECORD

To create or retrieve a customer record, you must search for an existing profile by completing the Customer Search Criteria below. If no existing record is located, the Create New Customer Record button will be enabled.

Do not create a new customer record if you have already purchased a license.
New customer records are inactivated 24-48 hours after creation if no licenses are purchased.

Customer Search Criteria

All information collected during the registration process is specific to the individual that will be utilizing the license.

Enter a date of birth and last name of the individual for whom you wish to purchase a license.
Do not enter a suffix (Jr, Sr, III, etc.) in the last name field.

The following items may be purchased without a customer record under the Guest option.

Gift Vouchers (not a valid license until redeemed for a resident sport fishing license)
2-Day Waterfowl Area Passes (for hunting purposes)
1-Day CDFW Lands Passes that allow access to specific CDFW sites (not required with a valid hunting or fishing license)
Warden Stamps to help support CDFW Law Enforcement
Pay Environmental Filing Fees
Pay Scientific Collecting Permit Fees

Select Official Document ID Type

Existing Customers: select the GO ID from the Identity Type dropdown and enter the GO ID number as printed on your existing CDFW license (above the customer name), or select the Identity Type that was used to create the customer record and enter the corresponding number.

New Customers: to create a customer record and obtain a GO ID (permanent CDFW customer number), select one of the Acceptable Identity Types (listed below) from the Identity Type dropdown enter the corresponding identity number for the individual requiring a new customer record.

Acceptable Identity Types: State ID (Driver's License or Identification Card), Passport, Military ID, Green Card, Foreign Government ID.

A youth (under 18 years of age) must have their own CDFW customer record (GO ID) created to enroll in California’s Hunter Education course or to purchase hunting and fishing items.

To create a new youth customer record and obtain a GO ID or to retrieve an existing youth customer record:

Enter the youth’s first name.
Select the appropriate Identification Owner and Identification Type, and enter the corresponding identity number.

Youth Identification: select this option if the youth has their own government issued identification as listed under the Acceptable Identity Types below or is an existing customer with a GO ID (printed on previously issued CDFW license).
Parent/Guardian Identification: select this option if the youth does not have their own government issued identification listed under the Acceptable Identity Types below or is an existing customer and you know the parent/guardian identification type and number that was used to create the customer record.

Acceptable Identity Types: State ID (Driver's License or Identification Card), Passport, Military ID, Green Card, Foreign Government ID.

REMINDER! Youth customers that use a Parent/Guardian Identification will be prompted to update their customer record with their own Acceptable Identity Type when they turn 18 years of age.
